From the Desk of Pastor Chris Ryan:
28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? – Matthew 6
“April showers bring May flowers!” We’ve all heard that little rhyme, and it is true! We have had a bunch of rain this April. And, honestly, I have been frustrated with the rain and wind throughout April. It seems like every nice day temperature-wise seems to get ruined by rain or wind. Well, during those frustrating days, I’ve found it helpful to remember that the rains have a purpose. Farmers need the rain. My flowers, grass, shrubs, and trees need the rain. And the end result of the rain will be beautiful colors appearing all over the earth. God is a God of beauty, and I believe He loves looking at the flowers that spring up in response to rain. Therefore, He is intentional with His rain. And Jesus’ point above is that if God is that intentional about taking care of the flowers that only beautify the earth for a short time, how much more intentional must He be in giving us what we need in our lives. As the grass begins to green, as the trees begin to bud, and as the flowers begin to bloom, take a moment to thank God for the rain. And then thank Him for taking care of you!
God’s Blessings,
Pastor Christopher Ryan
